Coating Machines

Unimatix Control & Automation has been supplying the corrugating industry with quality coating equipment for nearly 15 years. Whether a wet end blade coater is needed, or a dry end spray coater, Unimatix has a machine that will suite your needs. Each coater is custom sized to suite your needs. Both the width and the height are set depending on your requirement. Each coater has the option of being either permanently mounted in place or they can be provided with a roller stand for remote cleaning and maintenance.

Various Coating Machines:

Wet end coater (frame mount)

Dry end coater

Double sided wet end coater

Wet End Blade Coater

Wet end blade coaters are used to apply dyes and water proofing coatings to the surface of cardboard prior to the corrugating process. These systems can be used to apply coating to either the entire width or only sections using our Strip-Coating feature. All of our Blade Coaters have remote zoning control with easy to follow colour coded tubing.

Wet end coater being used during a production run.

Roll-out style wet end coater. Can be removed from the production line to allow for easy cleaning and maintenance.

Frame mountable coater.

Dual sided coater will coat both sides of the board with one pass.

Roll-out style wet end coater, with custom made stand for proper integration into an existing line.

Features

Simple Controls -- All standard blade coaters use an easy to operate control panel. These panels can be mounted remotely while coaters are permanently mounted in place.

Versatile Roller Positioning -- The idler rollers can be arranged in various ways to accommodate many different corrugator configurations.

Dual Power Blade Lift -- The Power Blade Lift raises the the blade off of the product when the machine is not in use. This improves the blade's life. The standard coater comes with a second blade that can be quickly switched over by a simple crank of a handle. This reduces down time by enabling a single operator to perform the switch in seconds with no tools required. The used blade can then be changed during normal scheduled down time, again without needing any tools.

Strip Coating/Zoning -- Some production runs require coatings to be applied in strips. Our strip Coating features allow portions of the blade to be 'blanked' off, isolating areas from being coated. By using multiple coaters in series, it is possible to produce multiple colour strips.

Features:

Standard wet end controller consists of two switches and one gauge.

Powered blade life control.

Colour coordinated zoning controls.

Spray Coaters

To handle your spray on coating requirements, Unimatix offers one of our two Dry End Coaters. Each of these machines are provided with Stainless Steel troughs, zoning, and washing systems.

Spray Coaters:

Fully automated Dry End Spray Coater.

Economical Semi-Automatic Dry End Coater.

Features

Fully Automated Dry End Spray Coater - This coater works on a 'turn it on and forget it' principal. Once this machine is set, you do not need to touch it. It will:
  • Automatically dilute your coating as you require, using an advanced two stage mixing system.
  • Start up when the corrugator has surpassed a required speed.
  • Switch into high spray mode when required
  • Shut down when the corrugator stops.
  • Automatically flush out / rinse off the nozzles when sitting idle
  • Permit remote zoning.
Semi Automatic Dry End Spray Coater - When simplicity is the key, this coater is for you. There is no electricity required for basic operation. An optional DC signal from the corrugator can be used to start/stop the sprayer remotely. Each nozzle can be deactivated individually to provide zoning capability. Due to the simplicity in it's design, this coater is well suited in environments where reliability is of the utmost importance.

Refurbish Existing Coaters

Unimatix Control & Automation can take your existing coater and perform a complete refurbishment. This will bring your existing coater back to factory quality.
